Hi, I'm Johannes Gabriel!
I'm a PhD student in NLPnorth Lab at the IT University of Copenhagen under the supervision of Anna Rogers. I work on Data Attribution for Large Language Models — identifying which training data is responsible for a model's outputs — with a focus on gradient-based methods like Influence Functions, addressing both their theoretical foundations and practical applications in NLP.
Additionally, since 2016, I'm an editor for MTB-News.de — the largest German-language mountain biking platform — where I cover news, events, and innovations in the MTB world.

Attended D3A 4.0, the Danish Digitalization, Data Science and AI conference, in Nyborg, Denmark. Presented a poster on our upcoming paper Under the Influence – of What? A Controlled Evaluation of Influence Functions (preprint soon) and gave a lightning talk on data attribution at the Interpretability in the Lab and in the Wild workshop.
Attended MLSS 2026 in Tübingen, Germany, with many interesting lectures from leading researchers, and presented my ongoing work as a poster.
Gave a talk on our recent work on data attribution at the Social Foundations of Computation group of the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen, Germany.
